    Helleborus niger (aka the Christmas rose or Christmas Carol) is great for brightening up a shady spot in the winter garden.

    This resilient evergreen perennial has pure white flowers and deep green leathery leaves.

    It can also be brought inside for a little while so that you can enjoy the blooms over the festive season.
